A Prayer for Thanksgiving

November 28, 2024 by Pam Luschei

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we celebrate a day of gratitude in the midst of grief,

There’s a collusion in this strange place.

Where’s the thanksgiving in our loss,

With an ache in our souls and tears on our face?

In the midst of our sorrow, there’s a glimpse of grace,

Thankful for all the love we had.

Discovering the beauty in what still remains.

Grateful for Your gentle comfort and presence like no other,

Your sweet peace and tender care,

Collecting our tears and recording each one.

We give thanks to You, our Comforter

For being present with us today.

With gratitude as we grieve.

In Jesus Name,

Amen.
