Blessed Hope
The week before Christmas and all through my house,
I was decorating as I remembered my spouse.
Memories came flooding through lights and scents
Recalling the moments that came and went
As I gathered with those who knew the same state,
we found solace together in our shared fate.
How do you make it, how do you cope?
Christmas reminds us of our blessed hope
Jesus came to us in human form.
Emmanuel, with us, walks with us in the storm
Comforts us and gathers our tears
Emmanuel, with us, calms all our fears
Blessed Hope has come to give us peace
Emmanuel, with us, let our joy increase
From whom all blessings flow, we give you praise
To the Prince of peace, the Ancient of Days.
